Food was good and the prices are good. Staff is wonderful. Nice atmosphere and clean.

The stuffed shrimp were very good.

Really enjoyed the dinner. Sure, I had fried, but the shrimp, fish, and scallops were wonderfully fresh and lightly breaded. Cole slaw was great...just like my Momma used to make! Are it all, and I don't usually eat the Cole slaw! Definitely try the place out!

do not go. food is mediocre. Noodles with butter were over cooked, mushy, watery , tasteless. Coffee was good. there were several families in the restaurant. Which makes me wonder why there is NO changing station in the tiny bathroom? We had to hold the door close and use a blanket on the floor to change a daiper

Under new ownership but same comfortable and friendly place to enjoy lunch or dinner. Ample portions, great selection, well prepared food.

Had a wonderful time at The Captains Table. The food was good and the staff was a pleasure!! First time there and definitely won't be the last.

We were down for the weekend and we stumbled upon this place. The food was really good the service was great and the desserts were pretty darn good, then to find out that it had just opened a week ago, under new management! Wow, they are top notch!

It's pretty good. The menu is decent and the staff is very friendly. I got the calamari appetizer and the clam strips meal. The calamari was great, but the clam strips were a little rubbery, meaning that they weren't fresh. The portions are on the larger size, but not too large. For fresher food and bigger portions try diamond shoals, it's the best. All in all, it's a prettt good place and will try for lunch another day.

We went there for lunch today and it was very good. Had shrimp PO boy! And my friend had the hamburger. We enjoyed ourselfs and waitress & service were excellent. Definitely worth going to.

Heard they had Rock fish. Wanted to give it a try but it was late and they sold out. That’s ok. What is unacceptable is to order flounder which is a norm of staple for a seafood restaurant and get two pieces of the thin sided (white) fish and not the true norm 1 dark & 1 white side, waitresses said she would ask about this. Came back to report I was correct but they failed to offer a dark piece or at least another way to correct and let me leave pleased and happy like my 1st visit 3 weeks ago. Nevertheless I most likely will not return because one should not ask hoping to hear a good report when after asking and not correcting. Other local restaurants are nearby...just saying

I was a little leary of eating at what was my favorite restaurant, but under new ownership. But, it was great! I had the shrimp salad. I wish they had bay scallops on the menu, but the food I had was delicious!!

We love this place. The buffalo shrimp were excellent! Just enough spice to awaken your palate. The oysters were fried to perfection. The atmosphere is always welcoming. What a great staff!

Great service and great local seafood. It's an older place, nothin fancy but clean and a great atmosphere for dining on the coast. We enjoyed our meal and upon leaving noticed that people were waiting outside and the parking lot was full. So come early, this place fills up quickly. Opens at 5:00 p.m.Enjoy your dinner. '

Just what you want from a seafood restaurant, local, perfectly cooked fish at local price. Just like back home in Mayport, Fernandina, or Miami. Food like this puts towns on the map for me.

Everything was cooked perfect! Best scallops I've had, tender and flavorful. Also had Flounder which was delicious and the tarter sauce is ahhhmazing. I am so happy we found this place! Highly recommend this place, great service and good prices too!

The scallops were out of this world and my wife got the clam strips, which were also awesome. The portions were extremely large also. Highly recommended!!!

Great menu selection all seafood is fresh caught. Family friendly down home atmosphere with knowledgable and friendly wait staff. Broiled and fried options. We're a gluten and dairy free family and were able to have a wonderful filling meal!

Food was okay...I had the prime rib and it was missing flavor. Green beans weren't fresh. Cole slaw was very good. Husband had the seafood Alfredo and he loved it.

Friendly staff and decent seafood can be expected at the Captain's Table. It's our go-to restaurant due to the decent prices and delicious food.

Always good. These folks serve good in season seafood in a friendly atmosphere by a great wait staff. We try to visit every time we are on the island.

Two years ago I would have rated this restaurant 0 stars. It was dirty, had serious staff problems and the food was awful. This year we decided to give another try on our way to our annual fishing trip to Hatteras. We were delighted to see the new simplified menu, fast service and good food. Highly recommend the Captain's Table.

Food was good and staff nice .There where sevearl patrons that were caughin like they had tibuclios and that made for a very unpleasant exoperince but not the fault of the staff. Also there is no alcohol served here and for an alcoholic like myself this is a problem but otherwise good. Thanks .

Fun, simple seafood place in Buxton! You can bring your own catch in and they will prepare and serve it to you with some sides for a reasonable price.

Third time this week, this time for supper. Great Service even though busy for this time of year. Our waitress was from Ohio and was Cheerful and Awesome.!!!! Flounder was fried perfectly. Sea scallops broiled and tender with great flavor. Dill in tarter sauce was a delicious surprise as was the red potato salad. Crab Bisque was excellent. Lots of crab. Best dish was the lunch basket of Oysters. Tender oysters, lightly breaded and just flash fried. I am sad our week is over and could have used one more visit to the Captains table.

Food was good, staff was ok, but they falsely advertised that they serve alcohol and they don’t. They don’t have any place for moms to change their infants. We had to go in our car. They were also out of too many things on the menu and we didn’t find out until we ordered them. Won’t go back

Ate both dinner and breakfast there and both were excellent. I had barbequed shrimp wrapped in bacon with grilled pineapple slices. So good! I had a light breakfast but they had the usual eggs, French toast, egg sandwiches and waffles!!! Really wanted the waffles, but I was good! Grits were yummy and the hash browns had onions, the way I like them. Staff was friendly, prices reasonable. It is one of our"must go tos" when we are visiting the OBX.

I really enjoyed eating at The Captains Table during my Vacation. The staff are very friendly and the food was amazing they went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my meal even during the dinner rush. Not only would I go back again but I also recommend that if you are in the area you should try the food here.

Do not serve alcohol (no liquor license) even though alcohol is on the menu. All they have to say every time there is an issue is "We are under new management". As if this new management cant afford to pront new menus. The only reason they get any stars at all is the food is good (fried sbrimp). The waitresses were also doing their very best to accomodate us.

If you're just interested in soup and salad, I wouldn't recommend it. A cup of "Hatteras clam chowder" was awful and cost over $6. It's just water, clams and raw bacon with basil. Salad was nothing special. Meals looked good.

Nice meal for the family. Sad the 80s decor was not complimented with some good 80s music. Really enjoyed the food. No liquor license. Kids loved it. Big portions.

This place has great service, and super nice staff. The food was great with really afordable prices, espeacilly when you have a big crowd. Are waiter did exactly what each person customized, even gave us extra dipped cream on a plate. All in all the captain's table is a great place to visit, alone or with your family.

Great seafood and friendly staff. Casual place to get a good meal. We come back yearly for the shrimp and crab. Portions are solid for the price. Not sure why folks give this 1 to 3 stars. It's the beach so expect casual. The fried shrimp is honestly perfect. If you are unimpressed, recommend you catch and fry it yourself :)

From the menu for this establishment we were under the impression that this was just a small pricy dive. However, upon arriving at the restaurant we were pleased to find it a nice restaurant for you and the family. The portion sizes were wonderful and so was the food, sending us both home with boxes. Our server Mindy was amazing as well. Definitely worth the money that you will spend here!

They had great steamed shrimp! Will be going back. The manager and upfront check out girl were both very pleasant and kind!

Friday night. July fourth week. 6:45 was not a great time to eat. Food was good but slow.

Super place to eat. Food was perfect, friendly staff, great price! Love this place.
